Wayman Education is seeking a passionate and driven Music ECT to join a well-regarded Good School in Hertfordshire from January on a full-time, permanent basis. About the Role

As a Music ECT, you will teach Music across KS3–KS4 , delivering practical, engaging and knowledge-rich lessons that encourage performance, creativity, and appreciation for different musical traditions. You will have the chance to support or lead extracurricular activities such as:

Choirs

Instrumental groups

Concerts and school productions


Lunchtime rehearsals and clubs

The department uses clear schemes of work that support you as you settle into the role, while still allowing space for your own teaching style to develop. You will also receive:

Experience and Qualifications

To be successful in this Music ECT position, the school is looking for someone who:

Is completing or has recently completed a PGCE in Music

Holds QTS or will receive it before the start date

Has strong musicianship and can model performance in lessons

Demonstrates a warm, consistent, and organised classroom presence


Values teamwork and is committed to their development as an early career teacher

Salary

The salary for this Music ECT position will be paid on the Main Pay Scale (MPS1–MPS2) in line with national pay progression for ECTs. Application
