1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Cirencester

Start: ASAP

Hours: Full‑time or part‑time available

A supportive
primary school in Cirencester is looking for amitted SEN Teaching Assistant
to provide focused 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs. This is an
excellent opportunity for someone with strong SEN experience who is passionate
about helping children access learning in a structured, nurturing environment.

Role Overview
Provide consistent 1:1 support for a pupil with additional learning or behavioural needs
Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised support strategies
Encourage engagement, confidence and emotional regulation
Assist with classroom routines, transitions and small‑group activities where needed

Candidate Profile

Previous SEN experience is essential
Calm, patient and adaptable approach to supporting pupil needs
Strongmunication and rapport‑building skills
Level 2/3 TA qualification desirable
Driving licence advantageous (due to school location)

SEN training highly valued, including:

Understanding Autism
ADHD Awareness
Team Teach / De‑escalation Training
Trauma‑Informed Practice
BSL or other
munication‑focused training
Makaton (highly desirable)

SEN Teaching Assistant

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEND needs, including ASD, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and SEMH.
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Support pupils in both classroom and one-to-one settings.
Monitor progress and contribute to assessment and review processes.

Proven experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
Strong
munication and teamwork skills.
Relevant qualifications ( Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, SEND training).
A
mitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
