We havean exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Dietitian to join the Therapy Department at Princess Alexandra Hospital. You will work as part of a team ofpaediatric dietitians to provide a comprehensive dietetic service across the Trust, including the childrens ward, regular outpatient clinics, and the homeenteral feeding service. You will be responsible for assessing and managing thenutritional needs of paediatric inpatients, supporting families with dietaryadvice, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure safe,evidence-based care. You will also manage aspects of the childrens ward andcontribute to the neonatal unit, working closely with the paediatric team leadto deliver high-quality, patient-centered nutrition support.
Main duties of the job
As a Paediatric Dietitian, you will cover regular outpatient clinics, reviewingreferrals from a variety of specialties as well as the local Child Development Centre, which may include children with neuro-disabilities such as cerebralpalsy or social and communication disorders such as autism. You will review andadjust home enteral feeding plans, coordinating with the community nursing teamto ensure appropriate feeding equipment and support. You will also educate andtrain healthcare professionals to provide evidence-based nutritional advice andcontribute to the training and supervision of dietetic students from the University of Hertfordshire, supporting the development of future dietitianswithin the department.

Job responsibilities
To develop and maintain advanced clinical knowledge and practice, ensuringdietetic interventions are evidence-based and in line with Trust and BDAguidelines. You will actively keep up to date with advances in paediatricnutrition and contribute to professional clinical groups, CPD activities, andreflective practice.
To evaluate and improve the quality of your dietetic practice, usingaudits, service reviews, and research to enhance patient care. You will analyseoutcomes, implement improvements, and ensure that all interventions meetnational and local standards.
To maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation in line with legal,regulatory, and departmental requirements. You will manage confidential patientinformation responsibly, communicate findings to colleagues, and ensure dataintegrity in all systems used for patient records or service audits.
To provide specialist education, training, and mentorship to colleagues,lower-grade staff, and dietetic students. You will contribute to developingtraining materials, support professional growth of the team, and guide othersin delivering high-quality, evidence-based care.
To contribute to the development and review of departmental policies,procedures, and clinical guidelines, ensuring they are up-to-date,evidence-based, and aligned with Trust priorities. You will collaborate withother health professionals for their implementation and continuous improvement.
To act autonomously and manage professional accountability for all aspectsof your work. You will oversee clinical risk management within yourresponsibilities, organise work efficiently, and ensure safe, high-qualitypatient care across your caseload.
Person Specification
Qualifications
Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or equivalent.
Evidence of post-registration training and CPD.
Paediatric experience in inpatient and outpatient settings.
Committed to ongoing professional development.

£22.48 an hour Rates are inclusive of Base Rate + Holiday Pay
