We are excited to be looking for a talented Robot Software Engineer to join a rapidly growing, multidisciplinary product development team. You will support the design and develop of both software and firmware for a growing fleet of robots. The ideal candidate would have a good degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics, Mechatronics (or similar experience), combined with substantial experience developing software using C++ and Python for commercial applications, preferably within the robotics and/or firmware space. The successful candidate will be rewarded with an exciting, diverse, and demanding role, with significant responsibility on the direction and development of the robot software and firmware. Salary will depend on experience and the successful candidate will also be invited to take part in the Employee Share Option Plan or performance related pay. Duties of the job: Assisting the design and development of the robot’s software and firmware systems. Working collaboratively within the software team and wider robotics team. End-to-end testing of entire robot system. Helping prioritise project direction and activities. Visit customer sites to analyse robots in situ and engage with the Delivery team and Partners. Continuing good workflow practices (continuous integration, Git Flow). Assisting with R&D projects as required. Working at least part-time in the office to engage hands-on with the robot hardware. Essential Requirements: A good degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Robotics or similar experience. Substantial relevant professional experience. Proficient in both C++ (C++11 or above) and Python Experience with the Robot Operating System (ROS) Proficient in version control using Git Experience of successfully planning, managing, and delivering software projects to deadlines. Experience and willingness to take responsibility for work packages while working within a team. Experience with unit and integration testing. Must be eligible to work in the UK without restriction (applications requiring visa accepted).
