Description
Technology Director / Senior Engineering Lead (Agile Azure.Net Shift Left) Hybrid WFH. Are you an experienced technology leader looking to take on a high profile role where you'll be able to deliver innovation? You could be heading up a number of software engineering teams working on complex and interesting mathematically based systems at the world's most advanced InsurTech. As a Technology Director you will take ownership of a Product Family of solutions. You will be accountable for project and service delivery; people management; process and engineering best practice; product technology and its supporting infrastructure. You'll manage Engineering Leads / Development Managers with oversight of the design and development across product suites within the Product Family and will pro-actively participate in strategic product planning meetings with a small senior leadership team. A key responsibility will be to recruit and retain high calibre software engineers, test engineers, architects and team managers. You will work with Architects and Senior Software Engineers to assess and evolve technology options, defining robust and scalable architectures and provide support to teams to unblock project issues and recommend actions. There's a remote interview and onboarding process as well as the ability to work from home, visiting the Reigate office 1-2 days for team meet-ups. Requirements: You have significant experience as part of a strategic leadership team within large corporate organisation You have experience of creating and prioritising technology roadmaps and providing input to a product roadmap You have advanced communication skills with experience of liaising across a business including key stakeholders and customers as well as the ability to foster and build on cross team collaborations You're able to assess and recommend tools and principles related to cloud based infrastructure (Azure), CI/CD, DevOps, Shift Left techniques, Version Control, Build and Test infrastructure, defect and backlog management You have experience of managing and negotiating with external suppliers and budgets You have a strong understanding of software engineering with practical experience across the full C#.Net Core development lifecycle You're an advocate of Agile development methodologies including Scrum and software engineering best practices As a Technology Director you will earn a competitive salary (to £180k) plus c40% bonus and benefits package including 25 days holiday (with the option to buy 5 more, plus your birthday off) and benefits including upto 10% contributory pension, medical and dental care. Reigate ( RY-gate) is a town of over 20,000 inhabitants in east Surrey, England, approximately 30 km (19 mi) south of central London.
