Role Overview
The SAP CIS Device Management Lead is responsible for the end-to-end design leadership, configuration governance, and delivery of SAP IS-U Device Management within a large-scale Utilities Customer Information System (CIS) transformation program. Operating within a System Integrator–led delivery model , this role owns solution integrity across the meter and device lifecycle, including installations, removals, exchanges, and technical master data, while ensuring integration readiness across downstream systems.
The Device Management Lead works closely with Billing, FI-CA, AMI/MDM, and field operations teams to ensure accurate meter-to-cash execution and high-quality operational outcomes through go-live and stabilization.
Key Responsibilities Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of SAP IS-U Device Management within a CIS program Own solution integrity across meter and device lifecycle processes , including installations, removals, exchanges, and technical master data Govern Device Management configuration , ensuring alignment with SAP best practices and Hydro One standards Lead delivery of metering processes , including meter reading, validation, estimation (VEE), and billing determinant generation Ensure integration readiness with Billing, FI-CA, AMI/MDM systems, and field operations Support functional testing activities (unit, integration, UAT), including defect triage and resolution
Partner with Billing and AMI/MDM teams to ensure accurate handoff of meter data and billing determinants
Support cutover planning, go-live readiness, and post–go-live stabilization activities Act as the primary functional authority for Device Management–related decisions, risks, and issue resolution
Provide leadership and guidance to Device Management functional resources within the SI delivery model
Must Haves Extensive hands-on experience with SAP IS-U Device Management in Utilities CIS programs Strong expertise in meter/device lifecycle , installations, removals/exchanges, and technical master data Experience with meter reading, validation, estimation (VEE) and billing determinant processes Proven experience owning functional design and configuration governance in complex SAP programs
Experience working within System Integrator–led delivery models Strong understanding of end-to-end utilities processes and meter-to-cash integration points Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have Experience with large regulated utilities and high-volume metering environments
Exposure to greenfield CIS or S/4 HANA Utilities programs
Experience integrating with AMI/MDM platforms and field service systems
