Salary: £100,000 Location: London (EC1) Permanent I am currently working with one of the fastest-growing Private Equity backed AI businesses, who are looking to hire a Senior Data Engineer to deliver enterprise-grade data solutions with Microsoft Azure through architecture, design, and development. A candidate who will succeed in this type of role will be commercially driven and adaptive to the fast-paced environment required by a PE-backed business. The role will require a candidate to propose concept ideas and drive innovation using AI and software engineering tools and concepts. Role: Help clients realise the potential of data science, machine learning, and scaled data processing within the Azure ecosystem. Work directly with clients to understand requirements and present solutions to customer sponsors. Influence and support project delivery through involvement in project/sprint planning and QA. Requirements: Minimum Msc degree, preferably in relation to Data Science/ Engineering. Exceptional proficiency in Python and SQL. Hands on experience with Microsoft Azure, and beneficial experience with Github or GCP. Expert understanding of DevOps – and the importance of providing continuous delivery of high software quality and velocity. Demonstrable ability to learn new technologies rapidly, such as Synapse DW, Docker and Apache Airflow. Relevant experience within commercially focused organisations, ideally collaborating with senior stakeholders/ clients. Several industries are associated with information technology, including computer hardware, software, electronics, semiconductors, internet, telecom equipment, and e-commerce. Humans have been storing, retrieving, manipulating, and communicating information since the Sumerians in Mesopotamia developed writing in about 3000 BC, but the term information technology in its modern sense first appeared in a 1958 article published in the Harvard Business Review; authors Harold J. Leavitt and Thomas L. Whisler commented that "the new technology does not yet have a single established name. We shall call it information technology (IT)." Their definition consists of three categories: techniques for processing, the application of statistical and mathematical methods to decision-making, and the simulation of higher-order thinking through computer programs.
