Our Primary school client based in Penge area are currently seeking an inspiring and experienced interim HLTA for a long-term basis until the end of the academic year.
You will become part of an enthusiastic team, working in a nurturing and academically successful environment with outstanding facilities. The school is committed to developing its pupils and staff to achieve their full potential.
Key Duties / Responsibilities:
Provide targeted support for pupils with additional needs, adapting strategies to promote engagement and progress.
Assist with planning and assessment alongside teachers and the wider multidisciplinary team.
Be confident working with students who have a range of SEND
Support behaviour regulation, emotional wellbeing, and positive communication.
Model excellent practice and guide other support staff where required.
Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and structured learning environment.
The Person
HLTA qualification (or equivalent experience delivering lessons/cover).
Strong understanding of SEN strategies, particularly around ASD and SEMH
Confident, adaptable, and able to take initiative.
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
A calm, resilient and supportive approach.
