Financial Controller, West London - Arts Education, up to £65,000A newly created position is now available in a small but growing higher education organisation with a specific focus on arts education. This position will lead a small transactional team, but have a rounded role covering group management accounts, year end and audit, alongside some strategic work with the FD. This is a great role for someone looking for a progressive organisation, up for some change and development and keen to mentor juniors. Higher education experience is essential in this role. Key Responsibilities:* Lead the co-ordination and production of consolidated management accounts to ensure that accurate information on group performance is provided on a timely basis.* Manage the year-end closing process and ensure timely and accurate production of the consolidated annual financial statements under UK GAAP* Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of regulatory returns such as the OFS annual financial return* Partner with internal teams to produce additional KPI in line with their requirements. Work collaboratively with other stakeholders to ensure financial and student data is accurate and up-to-date across all systems* Accountable for bringing together student information and other KPI to present at group level reports* Take ownership of cash collection end-to end including actively reviewing bad debts, automating processes where possible* Prepare monthly sales reports for calculation of commissions* Deliver timely and value-added financial services to senior management and stakeholders to enable strategic planning* Supporting the Finance Director on managing working capital, preparation of the group cashflow, and consolidation of group cashflows on a bi-monthly basis to ensure adequate provisioning.* Create an inclusive and diverse environment, act as role model and lead a high performing team that embody excellent service delivery and behave in line with our values* Drive continuous improvement in accounting process and internal controls. Document and communicate these processes to junior team members or other departments.Key Skills & Qualifications:* Qualified Accountant with minimum 3 years PQE (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)* Line management experience* Higher Education/Student Income knowledge* Prior experience managing audits* Excellent interpersonal skills/emotional intelligent* Clear communicator* Flexible and willing to take on new tasks and experiences
