A large and popular secondary school in Southampton is seeking a proactive School Finance Officer to join their experienced Business Services team from January. The Role

The School Finance Officer will be responsible for supporting the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of the school’s financial operations. Working closely with a supportive Business Manager, you will ensure all financial processes are delivered in line with trust and statutory regulations.

Your responsibilities will include:


Processing invoices, payments, purchase orders, and credit notes



Managing reconciliations, banking, and cashless payment systems



Monitoring budgets and providing updates to staff



Supporting the financial administration of educational visits and enrichment activities



Maintaining accurate financial data and documentation



Preparing reports and supporting audit processes



Managing supplier communication and ensuring timely payment cycles



Supporting payroll checks and personnel financial administration



Ensuring adherence to trust-wide financial policies
