My client, a market leading construction company is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Manager to join their expanding team. Reporting to the Procurement Director you will be responsible for ensuring the business benefit from an efficient supply chain with the quality, performance and capacity to deliver an ambitious pipeline. The role will work closely with construction and commercial directors to ensure robust commercial deals are secured and procurement is carried out in line with best practice sourcing and in line with strategic corporate objectives. Accountable for Supply Chain performance, including adherence to agreed Service Levels Ensuring best practice sourcing procedures and adherence to policy in a clear and transparent manner, commensurate to the requirements of an audited PLC. Supply chain forecasting ensuring capability of delivery for current and future pipeline Ensuring all approved suppliers comply with the minimum standards, including financial strength, relevant accreditations, and adherence to safety standards. Ensuring competitive commercial deals, commensurate with the scale and ambition of the company. Devising and implementing a clear category strategy for all areas of relevant spend including collation and maintenance of the approved supplier list within relevant area of spend. Championing best practice procurement behaviour and commercial diligence. Responsible for Leading supplier selection processes, including agreement of third party partnerships and competitive tendering as appropriate Agreeing commercial terms for major subcontractors in relevant area of procurement Harnessing Industry and Supplier insight and innovation Organising and leading supplier performance management meetings with relevant stakeholders, ensuring performance is factored into future supplier selection. Exploring modern methods of construction within relevant area of procurement. Proactively monitoring procurement / stock / logistics in relation to key areas of material supply ensuring availability for relevant stage of build process - including visits to key supplier locations. Collation and reporting of performance metrics Ensuring best value purchasing, including mitigation of cost inflation through partnerships and agile purchasing. Supports the Head of Product Development by supply of market intelligence, latest supplier innovations and evolution of relevant product. Supports with the achievement of wider corporate objectives such as carbon reduction or achievement of ISO 14001 Supports the Commercial Buyers where required on project specific issues including extraction of performance data following completion of projects Supports commercial directors (and Group Commercial Director) by providing a fit for purpose subcontractor approved supplier list from which to appoint - taking into account capacity, quality of past performance and exposure to other schemes Supports finance colleagues with the provision of savings projections The ideal candidate will have worked in a similar role previously, preferably within the construction industry.
