Description

ABOUT BALFOUR
At Balfour Winery, we’ve always done things our own way.
We planted vines in Kent when English wine was still considered a gamble. We built a winery that welcomes tens of thousands of visitors a year. We believe English wine deserves confidence, ambition and a lot of personality. Entrepreneurial spirit and optimism run through everything we do. We back ourselves. We move quickly. We plant first. Now we’re looking for someone to bring that same energy to our ecommerce channel.
MAIN PURPOSE
This is a commercial, hands‑on role responsible for driving online wine sales across Balfour’s direct‑to‑consumer channels.
The Ecommerce Manager will own performance across paid media (Meta, PPC, programmatic), website optimisation and marketing automation. You will be accountable for revenue growth, conversion rate, customer acquisition cost and repeat purchase. This is not a coordination role. It’s executional. You will build campaigns, optimise funnels, analyse data and make decisions. You’ll be goal‑focused and commercially sharp. Our wines have stories. Your job is to make sure those stories convert.

Manage budgets with clear ROAS and CAC targets.
Marketing Automation & CRM
Support email marketing and automation platform (e.g. Klaviyo or similar).
Build lifecycle journeys: welcome, repeat purchase, reactivation, Wine Club upsell.
Develop audience segmentation based on behaviour and purchase data.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Work closely with brand, content, hospitality and production teams.
Align digital campaigns with product launches and winery activity.
Ensure compliance with UK alcohol marketing and age verification regulations.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 5 years’ experience in Ecommerce, with direct responsibility for revenue growth.
Proven track record of scaling online sales in a DTC or premium brand environment.
Strong hands‑on experience with:
Meta Ads Manager
Google Ads

Analytical, practical and proactive.
Entrepreneurial mindset with optimism and accountability.
You must be able to work from the Winery 3 days per week, which is commutable from London Bridge, Waterloo East and London Charing Cross.
Experience in wine or luxury lifestyle brands is advantageous but not essential. Even if you don’t hit 100% of the brief, we still encourage you to apply. We value entrepreneurship and willingness to learn.

Improved conversion rate and acquisition efficiency.
Clear reporting and confident decision‑making.
