Description

*About The Role*
Hippo Digital is recruiting for *senior consultants in service design*. Service designers take a holistic approach to evaluating our client’s business ecosystem and lead the strategic planning for our client’s services. You’ll co-create new service propositions or evolve existing services and manage relationships between different groups. You’re a champion of user-centred design and also have a strong understanding of Agile methodology and how the different members of an Agile team contribute to service design.

As a *senior consultant in service design*, you’ll be seen by the client project team and senior client stakeholders as a trusted expert in your field. You may perform the role of a service delivery lead overseeing Hippo’s project delivery team. Depending on the size, complexity, and needs of the project, you will manage various dependencies across teams and departments.

You will support the team in delivering at pace by working effectively across organisational, technical, and situational boundaries and translating concepts into tangible deliverables for the team to execute on.

Contributing to the service design Community of Practice, you may also be a line manager. Hippo will provide exciting opportunities to share your expertise to influence clients and team members and to develop as a leader.

Key Responsibilities:
* Lead strategic planning for the client’s service to ensure it meets business and user needs.
* Articulate goals for the service through artefacts such as service maps, value propositions or service blueprints.
* Provide advice and recommendations on potential approaches to organisational problems.
* Plan and facilitate groups toward a common goal and be the voice of the customer in the room.
* Generate concepts, proposals and plans for new service propositions, or to evolve and improve existing services.
* Simplify complex, cross-departmental information and processes, making them understandable to all through visual communication.

*Skills and experience that you need*
You will be an expert at designing services from end to end and improving existing services that are underperforming. Your work will be primarily self-initiated. Experience of working with service/product owners and senior stakeholders is essential, as is the ability to take a pragmatic approach to meeting a client’s needs.

You will also:
* Be confident working with senior stakeholders, demonstrating how user research and service design analysis techniques have been used to support the design decisions
* Manage relationships effectively, building long-term, strategic partnerships
* Have advanced experience with Agile delivery
* Be able to create trust and authenticity in teams and can respond to challenges.

Government Digital Service (GDS) or Public Sector experience is an advantage but not essential.

Service design is a fairly new and broad profession and we expect you to have expertise or experience in one or more of the following related design disciplines: user experience design; business analysis; digital strategy; business architecture; product management.

*What makes us great*
*In addition to your salary you will receive: *
* Contributory pension scheme (Hippo 6% with employee contributions of 2%)
* 25 days holiday plus UK public holidays
* Perkbox access for a wide range of perks and discounts
* Life assurance and death in service cover
* Flexible benefits scheme with options of:
* private health cover
* private dental cover
* additional company pension contributions
* additional holidays (up to an extra 2 days)
* wellbeing contribution
* charity contributions

    Architecture is both the process and the product of planning, designing, and constructing buildings and other physical structures. Architectural works, in the material form of buildings, are often perceived as cultural symbols and as works of art. Historical civilizations are often identified with their surviving architectural achievements. The term architecture is also used metaphorically to refer to the design of organizations, software, and other abstract concepts. Construction is the process of constructing a building or infrastructure. Construction differs from manufacturing in that manufacturing typically involves mass production of similar items without a designated purchaser, while construction typically takes place on location for a known client. Construction as an industry comprises six to nine percent of the gross domestic product of developed countries. Construction starts with planning, design, and financing; and continues until the project is built and ready for use.

    Coventry ( (listen) KOV-ən-tree or KUV-) is a city, administrative centre and metropolitan borough in England and the United Kingdom. It is built on the River Sherbourne, which remains largely hidden by infrastructure, although it can be seen by the canal. Coventry has been a large settlement for centuries, although it was not founded and given its city status until the Middle Ages; since then it has been one of the most important and largest cities of the country. The conurbation consists of the Coventry and Bedworth Urban Area, being the 20th largest in the country; the city is governed by Coventry City Council. Historically part of Warwickshire, at the 2011 census Coventry had a population of 316,915, making it the 9th largest city in England and the 11th largest in the United Kingdom. It is the second largest city in the West Midlands region, after Birmingham, and is separated from the West Midlands conurbation by the Meriden Gap. Coventry is 19 miles (31 km) east-southeast of Birmingham, 25 miles (40 km) southwest of Leicester, 11 miles (18 km) north of Warwick and 94 miles (151 km) northwest of London. Coventry is also the most central city in England, being only 12 miles (18 km) south-southwest of the country's geographical centre in Leicestershire; it is located in the West Midlands.The current Coventry Cathedral was built after most of the 14th century cathedral church of Saint Michael was destroyed by the Luftwaffe in the Coventry Blitz of 14 November 1940. Coventry motor companies have contributed significantly to the British motor industry. The city has three universities, Coventry University in the city centre, the University of Warwick on the southern outskirts and the smaller private Arden University, with its headquarters close to Coventry Airport. On 7 December 2017, the city won the title of UK City of Culture 2021, after beating Paisley, Stoke-on-Trent, Swansea and Sunderland to the title. It will be the third title holder of the quadrennial award which began in 2013. In July 2020 it was announced that the City of Culture festivities would not commence until May 2021 and conclude in May 2022 due to preparational and infrastructural delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
