SEN early years Teaching Assistant
Academics is seeking a caring and patient Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Worthing. This is a fantastic opportunity to support young children with Autism, ADHD, and other special educational needs (SEN) in their early development.
Key Responsibilities
*
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children in the Early Years.
*
Assist with learning, play-based activities, and personal care as needed.
*
Support children’s social, emotional, and communication development.
*
Use positive reinforcement and sensory strategies to engage learners.
*
Work closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to create a supportive environment.
Requirements
*
Experience working with young children or those with SEN (preferred but not essential).
*
A patient, nurturing, and enthusiastic approach.
*
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
*
Full UK driving licence (school is not easily accessible by public transport).
*
Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
